AECOM is currently seeking a Field Technician for a new position based in our Sault Ste Marie, ON office.Job Responsibilities Include: Provides basic support in the areas of construction administration and inspection activities in support of projects.
Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating field survey equipment, reading and interpreting contract documents, inspecting construction installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation on a daily basis when on a construction site. Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.General understanding of procedures, company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.Entry-level position, previous experience may not be required.Graduate or enrollment in a Civil Engineering Technician/Technology program or an equivalent program.An understanding of road construction, stormwater, water distribution systems and /or wastewater collection systems is preferred but not mandatory.Ability to meticulously review project documentation, drawings, and specifications to support inspections.Basic proficiency with MS Office tools to assist with documentation, reporting, and data management.Comfortable in working independently in both an office and field environment.
