GEORGE TOWN: A PKR leader has challenged Perikatan Nasional to name its chief minister-designate candidate for Penang.
PKR strategic director Sim Tze Tzin asked Perikatan whether Gerakan president Datuk Dominic Lau would assume the top post if the coalition got the public mandate.“As the unity government here, we are clear that our chief minister-designate candidate is our current chief minister.
Sim also asked about Gerakan’s contribution to the state over the past 15 years, especially when Perikatan was in power at the federal level. On Sunday, Lau confirmed that he would be contesting in one of the seats on the mainland in the state election. Penang has 40 state assembly seats – Pakatan Harapan won 37 seats, while Barisan Nasional took two seats and PAS in the last state election in 2018.
