- ROME, NOV 2 - Lufthansa expects the EU antitrust authority to give the green light for its acquisition of 41% of ITA Airways"by early 2024", the German company said in a statement on its third-quarter financial results.
ITA replaced loss-making former flag-carrier Alitalia in 2021, with the State taking full ownership. In May the Italian State agreed to the acquisition by German carrier Lufthansa of a 41% stake in ITA's share capital against an investment of 325 million euros over the 2023-2024 period.
